INCIDENT: PC 594- Vandalism
LOCATION: 6500 Block of Freedom Way, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): Charles Rush, 28-year-old Male, Resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): The City of Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at approximtely 7:51 a.m., Deputy L. Gonzalez responded to the 6500 block of Freedom Way, in the city of Twentynine Palms, reference a report of vandalism.
On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at approximtely 11:00 p.m., video surveillance captured a white male adult, later identified as Charles Rush, pulling rain chains from cement posts that were affixed to the building. Rush damaged the outdoor LED lights, network light control/circuit and a camera affixed to the building. The estimated cost to repair damages was $30,000.
At approximately 10:13 a.m., Deputy Gonzalez observed Rush walking in the area of Mesquite Avenue and Gorgonio Drive. Rush was arrested for Penal Code 594(a)(1)-Felony Vandalism. Rush was found to be on parole. Rush was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for Penal Code 594(a)(1)-Vandalism and a Parole violation. Rush is being held without bail.
