INCIDENT: PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 58000 block of Sun Oro Road, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Eric Ettleman, 29-year-old resident of Morongo Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential, 63-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
Confidential, 40-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
Confidential, 3-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
SUMMARY: On Monday, September 19, 2022, at 3:25 p.m., deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station responded to a reported shooting in the 58000 block of Sun Oro Road in the unincorporated county area of Yucca Valley.
During the investigation, deputies learned Eric Ettleman arrived at the location and confronted the 63-year-old victim in front of the residence. Ettleman produced a firearm and shot several rounds, which struck the residence. Ettleman fled in a vehicle prior to deputies arriving at the residence. No one was injured during the incident.
Approximately an hour later, deputies were contacted by Desert Hot Springs Police Department personnel where Ettleman surrendered himself at their station.
Ettleman was arrested for PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail. Bail was set at $50,000.
