INCIDENT: VC10851 – Vehicle Theft
PC496(a) – Receiving Known Stolen Property

LOCATION: 7400 Block of Elata Avenue, Yucca Valley CA

SUSPECT(S): Alberto Merida, 31-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino, CA
Adam Evans, 32-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino, CA
Amanda Osuna, 34-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino, CA

VICTIM(S):  Confidential

SUMMARY:
On September 6, 2022, at approximately 1:51 am, deputies followed up on a series of vehicle thefts near the 7400 block of Elata Avenue in Yucca Valley. A vacant residence was identified as a location used to store stolen vehicles and additional stolen property.

Deputies conducted surveillance at the location and identified unusual pedestrian activity going in and out. A white transportation van arrived and parked at the location with an unidentified male driver. Deputies noticed the van matched the description of a stolen vehicle taken days prior.

Deputies made contact and identified the male driver as Alberto Merida. Merida was found in possession of several stolen vehicle keys and the van was determined to be stolen out of Yucca Valley.

Deputies conducted a security sweep of the vacant residence and detained Adam Evans and Amanda Osuna. Evans and Osuna both had misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear.

While continuing the investigation, deputies noticed several stolen items inside the residence and a search warrant was obtained for the location. Deputies served the warrant and recovered several stolen items inside.

Merida was arrested and booked for VC10851- Vehicle Theft and PC 496(a)- Possession of Stolen Property. Bail was set at $50,000.

Evans and Osuna were also arrested and booked for PC 496(a)- Receiving Stolen Property. Bail was set at $25,000 each.
