LOCATION: Twentynine Palms Highway / Cholla Avenue, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): Errol Myers, 44-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On September 26, 2022, at approximately 12:48 a.m., deputies on proactive patrol in Twentynine Palms conducted a traffic enforcement stop for vehicle code violations. Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as Errol Myers, a 44-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms. Through investigation, Myers was found to be in possession of ammunition and a short barrel, AR-15 rifle. The AR-15 was found to be non-serialized and untraceable; commonly referred to as a “ghost gun.” Myers is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Myers was arrested for PC 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm and PC 30305(a)(1) – Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $50,000.
