Update: Yucca Valley Youth lost in tragic drowning in Big Bear Lake

UPDATE: On 07/05/2010 at about 10:45 AM, Nathaniel Wayne Hopper, age: 18, from Yucca Valley, was swimming in Boulder Bay at Big Bear Lake when he began having difficulty and went under the water. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department was notified and dispatched their dive team. At about 12:50 PM, Hopper was found and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. On Saturday, July 3, 2010, at about 9:06 p.m., Deputies responded to a vehicle fire in the area of 32600 block Carnelian Rd in Lucerne Valley. Upon arrival, Deputy Kevin Buchanan observed a fully engulfed truck in the roadway in front of 32600 block of Carnelian Road in Lucerne Valley. From Desert29: On Thursday, June 25, a 65 year old man, William Ewasko, from Marietta, Georgia, was hiking in the Joshua Tree National Park. Thursday night, his girlfriend became concerned because she has not heard from Ewasko. Beginning in January 2010, Yucaipa deputies have been investigating several incidents of graffiti in the city. Following a tip, deputies arrested 3 adults for felony vandalism. They were identified during the investigation for spray painting graffiti in various locations of Yucaipa City on both private and public property over the last six months. San Bernardino– The Board of Supervisors today passed a balanced budget for the fiscal year than begins on Thursday, closing an $89.4 million shortfall largely with the help of employee-approved salary deferrals and departmental budget reductions. The budget eliminates 529 positions, 85 of which are currently filled. Most of those filled positions are housed in Probation, District Attorney, Public Defender, and Land Use Services. God Bless the United States Supreme Court and their 5-4 ruling that the 2nd Amendment Right to keep and bear arms is a right not a privilage and applies to States through the 14th Amendment to the United States. I am still trying to determine if this strikes down the Slaughterhouse cases that gutted the 14th Amendment in the days after Reconstruction. More as I get more news.
