INCIDENT: Mountain Rescue Association Recertification
LOCATION: Indian Cove, Joshua Tree National Park
SUMMARY: On Saturday, March 5, 2022, the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department’s Cave and Technical Rescue Team hosted the Mountain Rescue Association’s recertification training in Joshua Tree. Over 350 search and rescue members, the majority of which are volunteers, from across all of California attended. The teams demonstrated their proficiency in complex rope rescues using the rocky landscape of Joshua Tree National Park.
The Mountain Rescue Association is an organization of search and rescue teams dedicated to saving lives through rescue and mountain safety education.
