Yucca Valley-Man arrested for stabbing and killing a 77-year-old male.

stabbingOn Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at approximately 3:59 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin station responded to an unknown problem call at a business located in the 58000 block of Twentynine Palms Highway, in the town of Yucca Valley.

Upon arrival, deputies located an elderly male adult, in a recreational vehicle (RV), suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators from Sheriff’s Homicide Division responded to the location and are conducting the investigation.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the suspect, James Adam Webb, was apprehended by detectives of the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, as well as patrol personnel, within the Paradise Valley area. Webb attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended.

During the investigation, it was determined the victim was possibly killed during a carjacking. Webb was booked for P.C. 187(a), murder, and is currently being held at the Morongo Basin jail without bail. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available for release at this time.

UPDATE:    Coroner case 701406383–On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at approximately 3:59 a.m. deputies from the Morongo Basin station responded to a call of an unknown problem at a business in the 58000 block of Twentynine Palms Highway, in the town of Yucca Valley. Deputies arrived to find an elderly male adult with upper body trauma in a recreational vehicle (RV). The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators from Sheriff’s Homicide Division responded to the location and are conducting the investigation. The name of the decedent is withheld pending notification to next of kin.
