On 12/23/10 at approximately 1:08 PM, William Gline, a 51 year old resident of Helendale, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle westbound along the right-of-way of the Burlington-Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks. The location was on Jordan Rd., approximately 2 miles north of Vista Rd., in Helendale. Gline was struck by a train also traveling westbound. Gline was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:23 PM by San Bernardino County Fire paramedics. Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad police are investigating the incident.
