On 01/09/2011 at 2:31 PM, the California Highway Patrol received a 911 call reporting a single all terrain vehicle rollover accident in the Off Highway Vehicle area known as Johnson Valley Soggy Dry Lake Bed. Officers from the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene via helicopter and confirmed the death of Timothy Skiffington, a 58 year old resident of Hesperia, at 2:45 PM. On 12/31/2010 at about 10:00 PM, Jesus Ruiz, a 37 year old resident of North Las Vegas Nevada, was the unrestrained driver of a Polaris Razor off-road vehicle who was off-roading in the area of Dumont Dunes in Rural Baker. While driving in the open desert, Ruiz lost control of the Razor causing it to roll over and ejecting him. On 12/25/10, at 8:35 PM, Officers from the California Highway Patrol were sent to the area of Euclid Ave. and State Route 71, in Chino. Joan Ja Oden, a 67 year-old resident of Pasadena, had driven her vehicle past barricades that had closed Euclid Ave. due to flooding. She and her vehicle became submerged in the water.
