Businesses required to start recycling by July

Daily Press (01-10-12), by Tomoya Shimura Local cities are asking businesses to start recycling to meet new mandatory commercial regulations. Under the new law, Assembly Bill 341, any business that generates more than 4 cubic yards of commercial solid waste per week must sign up for recycling services required by each municipality. Cities have to inform businesses about the regulations and available options by July 1 before reporting to the state those not recycling. A multifamily residential dwelling of five units or more will also have to start recycling....

Apple Valley, CA— On May 17, 2011 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a hispanic female adult in her early to mid 20′s was found in the Deep Creek area suffering from a traumatic injury. She and was flown to a local hospital for treatment. On May 18, 2011 at 12:00 p.m., Sheriff’s Investigators were notified that the unidentified female died from those injuries. San Bernardino County tops the state in storm damage

Current estimates indicate San Bernardino County has experienced more significant property damage from winter storms occurring since December 18 than any other county in the state, with damage currently estimated at $59,501,466. Damage assessments are ongoing, but at this time, the County Emergency Operations Center reports five homes destroyed, 57 homes with major damage, one business with major damage, 317 homes, businesses and outbuildings with minor damage, and 28 other structures affected but not physically damaged by the floods. These estimated losses of private and businesses properties total $16,939,500....

On 12/02/2010 at approximately 6:40 PM, The California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department located a 2004 Chevrolet pick-up truck approximately 150 feet over the side of the roadway on Cajon Blvd., approximately ¼ mile north of Applewhite Rd., in Devore. The driver of the Chevrolet, Charlie Needham 41 years-old, was pronounced dead on scene due to injuries sustained in the collision. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
