
On Thursday, February 2, 2012, the Blythe Narcotic Enforcement Team (BNET) along with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department – Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) investigated a murder-for-hire plot involving Earl Joseph Gomez, 47, from Blythe. The investigation determined that Gomez attempted to solicit a co-conspirator to have two persons murdered for money. Gomez was subsequently arrested for two counts of attempted murder and attempt to solicit to commit murder and booked into the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Indio Jail.
