How about a job fair to honor the vets? Now is not the time for spending money on special meetings to discuss what amounts to little more than fluff.
Sewers, sidewalks, fairgrounds, horse arenas, and celebrations come second after the economy. After filling empty buildings. This should be handled by the Chamber of Commerce and by private parties. A mandated city sponsored parade is superficial at best.
