The Desert Trail >New mayor to be selected Tuesday
TWENTYNINE PALMS — Mayor Joel Klink will deliver the annual State of the City address and present the annual Mayor’s Recognition Award when the Twentynine Palms City Council meets in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Twentynine Palms City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road.
Selection of the city’s new mayor and mayor pro tem for 2010 also will take place during the meeting.
During the public hearing portion of the meeting, the City Council will receive the Planning Commission’s recommendation for approval of the project by Maurice Pegorelli of MP Investments to convert an existing structure, the former Heilig-Meyers furniture building at 5864 Adobe Road, into a multi-use entertainment and retail center, including a live-music lounge and bar, billiard hall, retail shop, banquet dining facilities, food service, and office areas.
Also on the agenda is a request for the City Council to approve a Letter of Convenience and Necessity for applicant Claire Regina Fabian to obtain an on-sale beer and wine license for Gordie’s Bar and Deli at 4966 Adobe Road, formerly known as Adobe Deli and, most recently, B&J’s Sports Bar.
For more information, call City Hall at (760) 367-6799.
