Twentynine Palms, Ca– We must be living in a “B” Scifi Movie. Where is Rowdy Roddy Piper? Where are my Sun Glasses? Where is my Bubble Gum?
Just like “They Live” a 1988 science fiction film directed by John Carpenter, who also wrote the screenplay under the pseudonym Frank Armitage. The movie is based on Ray Nelson’s 1963 short story Eight O’Clock in the Morning.
What’s on the Next Council Agenda can only be part of the script.
Part science fiction thriller and part dark comedy, the film echoed contemporary fears of a declining economy, within a culture of greed and conspicuous consumption common among Americans in the 1980s. In They Live, the ruling class within the moneyed elite are in fact aliens managing human social affairs through the use of a signal on top of the TV broadcast that is concealing their appearance and subliminal messages in mass media.
Here is whats on September 14th Council meeting agenda folks… no kidding!!
9.1 Request of City Sponsorship in the amount of $2500.00 for the Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council.
RECOMMENDATION: The City Council approve sponsorship in the amount of $2500.00 to help defray the costs of advertising the Open Studio Tours 9th year.
Defray the cost of advertising? Don’t you mean pay off the preferred Main Stream Media with free taxpayer money in the guise of Advertising?
We just got done with the moneyed elite and their demands that we front their doodle-fest. Same type folks different group. Another private non-profit wanting to be subsidized with Public Money. What the hell is going on down at City hall?
