HDWD CANDIDATE FORUM AIRS ON TIME-WARNER, Sept. 11th and Sept. 12, 6pm Channel 10

Yucca Valley, Ca.- The Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce sponsored Hi-Desert Water District Candidate Forum will be broadcast on TimeWarner Cable this Saturday, September 11th at 6 pm and Sunday, September 12th at 6pm, Channel 10.

The Forum gave us an opportunity to state our views on many issues facing the community including, water rates, water supply issues and the need to protect our ground water. Also discussed was the need for sewers and related costs of a wastewater treatment facility. The format included a two minute opening statement , and 17 powerful issue related questions asked of each candidate that were submitted by the audience. I only wished there was a chance for rebuttal or even two minutes to answer but this format moved the program forward and kept everyone focused.

Thank you to the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this event and to our wonderful moderator, Joe Olson,VP, Military, Economic, and Community Development at Copper Mountain College.

A special thank you to the citizens that attended this Forum and participated by submitting thoughtful questions dealing with the real issues facing our water district. Your questions will also give the viewing audience a chance to review the positions of the four candidates to represent them on the water board.

There are three seats open for the Hi-Desert Water District and there four candidates running: Dan Munsey, Roger Mayes, Sheldon Hough and myself, Margo Sturges.
