Each time you think Gary Daigneault can’t outperform his last tactless act, he pulls yet another self-serving shameless stunt.
How long will his outrageous public performances continue before it is no longer acceptable, and people tire of his blatant influence peddling, self-serving lobbying for city funding for his own purpose, and his blazing conflict of interests.
This man has a veracious appetite that needs to be fed. If it’s not siphoning funds from Theatre 29 to pay 29 Chamber of Commerce (see below), it sticking it to the city for a disproportionate share of limited city funds.
We see Twinkle Toes (he use to be a dancer you know) has been highlighted in Cactus Thorns many times over for his conflicting interests and blatant insider lobbying efforts.
Lets take a look at news of the day in the Basin today and select someone in the news. Okay I see a big splash about Gary Daigneault. Lets choose him as a subject.
Today in the local radio print news, Twinkle Toes posts this story: TWENTYNINE PALMS CHAMBER HOSTING FRIDAY OPENING NIGHT AT THEATRE 29
Basically it hypes “The Pajama Game.” Tells you the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce is being honored by Theatre 29 as a sponsor of the play, with all of the proceeds of opening night going to Gary’s alter ego, yes, The Chamber!
Hence, Twinkle Toes assigned one of the reporters from the radio station to report on who? Yes, O’l Twinkle Toes himself.
Lets be up-front, during Twinkle Toes’ reign as President of the Chamber at every opportunity has used his position to lobby for free funds from the City. His cronies at city hall kiss his twinkling toes. They worship the ground this former vacuum cleaner salesman walks on.
Twinkle Toes is also President of Theatre 29. Theatre 29 has the exclusive use of a free city building. Exclusive use means it cannot be used by the public. Theatre president of Theatre 29, Twinkle Toes — and his ungracious cohorts on its Board of Directors — want the Town to pony up and build a newly designed theater complex for them closer to downtown.
My thinking is Theatre 29 need to get the hell out of that city building so other groups can produce plays.
It would be nice to see rotating theater groups and other local groups do local productions in the City build Theatre 29. Not the same old group all the time, Twinkle Toes and his theatre troup of merry ingrates on the Board. Three act plays, open mike, stand up, one act plays, youth productions and the likes.
That is not possible for other to do because Daigneault and his Theatre 29 followers have exclusive rights to this city building. This is wrong. How much longer will it continue?
Anyway, Gary Daigneault and his cohorts of Board followers at Theatre 29 have taken action to donate all the proceeds of opening night to — yes, none-other than the 29 Chamber. The unmitigated gall! Follow the money… it goes back to Daigneault and his elite band of conniving opportunist — The 29 Palms Chamber of Commerce Board of Directer his reign.
We all remember this past Christmas that Twinkle Toes — as President of Theatre 29 — honored the the 29 Chamber, his Presidency. Duh! this is no way to run these organizations. The 29 Palms Chamber of Commerce actually ceases to exist as we know it.
The attorney general needs to take a look at this. The Department of Corporations needs to see if they the Directors are diverting the corporation in directions for their own purposes. The 29 Council needs to wake-up. Twinkle Toes needs to devote more time to his family and to the radio station. There is much need for new community programing.
How about something where Twinkle Toes isn’t the master of the universe. More community diversity would be a big plus for the station and the community.
Since Theatre 29 has so much money to give away, and they pay no rent for the city building Theatre 29, Twinkle Toes and his followers ought to think about paying the city a little rent. That could-be rent money just went back to Twinkle Toes’ step child, the 29 Chamber. Do we see a pattern here.
We know Twinkle Toes co-owns the local radio station. So he sends his reporters out to report on himself, Gary Daigneault. I’ll leave you with this, approved by Twinkle Toes and posted in the station’s today online print news.
“The opening night will be $25, but you may get to hob-knob with the director Gary Daigneault…” (emphasis added).

I’d rather get a knob job…..
Every time the theater opens a new production, the opening night is sponsored by a different group…Soroptimist and Reach Out Morongo Basin are just two that I can think of off the top of my head. The fact that the Chamber is sponsoring the opening of this show isn’t really a big deal.
I’m no bigger fan of Gary than you are, but sometimes it feels like you are *looking* for reasons to write scathing things about him and, in my opinion, brings down your credibility. The man has got enough things you can complain about without making a big deal out of nothing.
Just my personal point of view…
