New Hip

Yucca Valley, Ca.,- Well okay, maybe not back in the saddle but I am walking upright without any pain and a new hip!  Two weeks ago I underwent surgery to replace my hip benefiting by a revolutionary new procedure for THR, Total Hip Replacement, with a minimally invasive anterior incision of 4″ on the top of my right thigh. There are many YouTube videos on this surgery and I suggest the animated versions are better suited for most viewers to learn more.

I have been posting my hip surgery recovery and progress on my FaceBook page using my BlackBerry. For some reason, I was not able to insert any text on a couple of stories I was trying to post on Cactus Thorns, possibly much to the delight of my one detractor and nemesis, Tim Humphreville, AKA:The Liar.

My talented surgeon, Louis Stabile, M.D., was amazed that I have progressed to walking around unassisted by a cane or walker after only two weeks. During my visit with him yesterday, I forgot to ask for a referral for further PT, Physical Therapy, to promote muscle development of my previous unused leg muscles.

I am not allowed to drive for two weeks and will use this time to build up my stamina.

Thanks everyone for your prayers, best wishes, cards, flowers and encouragement!

  1. Ed Montgomery Ed Montgomery says:

I’m glad to see you’re back, I’m also glad to see you’re doing okay and that everything went well. You got everything done just in the nick of time just before the campaigning to get rid of able and the rest of the sky harbor bunch. Take it easy and I’ll talk to you soon! Best wishes.

  2. Thanks Ed…Looking at the BIG picture, there are other pockets in play: the Country Club Clique, the Santa Barbara Boys and the Sky Harbor Little League…united by one word GREED. The stench of Nuaimi is still around. During the formation of the General Plan, he set up SPA’s, Special Policy Areas, to accommodate these various pockets. These areas are set up to trump, with the current Planning Commission rubber stamp, any zoning.

For example, Cindy Brehm Melland living in the Country Club area (as does Paul Cook and Chad Mayes), is set up to build over 900 high density units around the golf course, which the Brehm family “won” at a foreclosure sale after the HDWD President, Sarann Graham also living in the Country Club area, called an illegal emergency meeting with only ONE HOUR notice to agree NOT to bid against Brehm.

Then Mayor Dawn Rowe and PC Chair Tim Humphreville magically appeared at that hastily(?) called meeting, along with Cindy Melland pleading to let Brehm win the bid. (Rowe is the liaison for Congressman Paul Cook, Humphreville is an avid golfer. Twin Tom Humphreville lives in the Country Club Estates too.)

Even the HDWD tried to accommodate the Santa Barbara Boys by first removing that Upper Sky Harbor area entirely from ANY phase by claiming they were trying to reduce the town population in order to qualify for a low-income rural grant, as proposed by the politician/CFO Frank Luckino. When the Boys realized they would be under a higher scrutiny by the State of California regulating septic tanks…this area was “magically” placed back into Phase Three.

So you see Ed, there is no reason to call out the Sky Harbor area just because that is where Mayor Lombardo, Councilman Rowe, ex-councilman Haggerman, past Town Clerk Jamie Anderson, wanna-be Jennifer Collins and a few low level Bubble People live. Besides, the back-tracking appointed councilman Merl Able moved out of Sky Harbor to the west end of town and….Huntington? He lives on Santa Barbara in Upper Sky Harbor.

Nuaimi was quick to size up the situation and put several pieces into play on this BIG PICTURE chessboard but he got the boot for his immoral philandering with YV Chamber President Jennifer Collins. Their cozy arrangement during Measure U and celebrating his 3 year contract with a get-a-way in Las Vegas as described in their sex texts cut Nuaimi’s stay short…with a hefty pay-off to just go away.

Who authorized this huge payoff of over $126,666? Answer: appointed Mayor Abel, Councilmen Rowe and Recall targets-Councilmen George Huntington and Councilman Robert Lombardo. The People’s Choice-Councilman Bob Leone voted NO to any pay-off.

Another piece is in play at this moment assisted by our Town Attorney Lona Laymon working on a “poison pill” THREE-year contract for a new Town Manager. Instead of waiting for the newly elected council to be seated this November, the above four councilmen are setting up Shane Stueckle to be appointed to Town Manager this evening at their Closed Session beginning at 5:30pm and it is the last agenda item on the 300+ page agenda.

This stinking set-up has Nuaimi’s hand prints all over this contract and his stench in the presentation of “savings from the previous Town Manager”…oh yes, and a comparison to other manager’s salaries. All of this designed to place Shane Stueckle in charge of the Town, and the dissolved RDA, to complete the chess board moves Nuaimi had set up before getting the boot. Stueckle was responsible for the flawed EIR on the fast-tracked Senior Housing scheme which the State Water Board did not appreciate and came down on C.O.R.E. developers.

Illegal? Probably not except some Brown Act violations…there is no Brown Act jail and all can be “corrected” with a re-do, as they did in Twentynine Palms.

Dealing in the gray area? Yep!

The other candidate considered for the position of Yucca Valley Town Manager, Curtis Yakimow, would never be caught dealing in any gray areas for our Town. He refused to sign a RDA document stating no properties were transferred out of the RDA during a specific time period so Nuaimi hired an accounting firm to submit a letter, in their opinion, they believed no properties were transferred out.

This comment will appear as a story when I can return to my laptop…tonight will tell the story of the BIG PICTURE.

I hope I am wrong and Curtis Yakimow is selected.
