Beavis_and_Butt_Head_by_juarezricciMohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Justin Wayne Thompson, 28, and Michael Blaine Turner, 23, both of Kingman, late Wednesday (7/9) morning for burglary and possession of a weapon by prohibited person, felonies. Turner was also arrested on a failure to pay fines misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Municipal Court.
Approximately 7:07 a.m., deputies responded to a trespassing report at a residence in the 16800 block of Knoll Drive. While enroute, dispatch advised that the reporting party said that he locked himself in his garage with a pellet gun. Dispatch further advised that the RP said that two male subjects gained access to his house after they broke a bedroom window and one of the subjects he knows as Justin Thompson.
As deputies were almost at the residence, dispatch advised that the reporting party called and said the subjects left in a red station wagon and they took his .22 rifle.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party, a 53-year-old male victim. The victim said that his .22 rifle, a dark blue HP laptop computer and $18 worth of cash were stolen. Deputies contacted a witness. The witness said they saw two men enter the victims’ residence after they broke a window. The witness further said that the men left sometime later in a red car.
At about 9:57 a.m., deputies responded to an accidental shooting incident involving a .22 rifle at a residence in the 15100 block of Holly Drive. While enroute, deputies were contacted by the Lake Mohave Rancho Fire Department near Holly Drive and 7 th Street.
The FD personnel advised that they were transporting a 24-year-old female victim with a bullet wound to her stomach to the fire department and she will then be airlifted to a hospital in Las Vegas.
Deputies continued to the residence. Upon arrival, deputies observed two male subjects and a female subject standing between a red truck and a red Ford station wagon. Deputies recognized one of the male subjects as Thompson from past contacts.
Deputies contacted Thompson and took him into custody without incident.
Deputies contacted the female subject and she said that she and her daughter were unloading groceries from the grocery store when she heard a pop. The female subject further said that her daughter had been shot by a rifle that was in the backseat of the station wagon. The victim of the accidental shooting is Thompson’s wife.
The victim is currently listed in critical condition at Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Investigations thus far have determined no one else was in the car when the rifle discharged a bullet striking the victim. Deputies observed the rifle was broken into two parts. The rifle was identified as the stolen .22 rifle from the burglary that morning.
The victim of the burglary described the other male subject as having tattoos on his arms, chest and back.
Deputies contacted a male subject matching the victim’s description on the property inside a trailer. The male subject was identified as Turner. A records check showed Turner to have an active warrant.
Deputies also located information that Turner is on parole as he was recently released from prison for armed robbery. Turner was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies located the stolen HP laptop from inside a trailer. Thompson and Turner were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
