Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kristen Suzanne Plank, 38, of Kingman, Thursday (6/19) morning for child abuse, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all felonies, along with a dog at large misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Approximately 9:32 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 3100 block of E Hearne Avenue in reference to assisting the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Code Enforcement with an open lot storage complaint.
Upon arrival, deputies observed Plank step outside of the residence where she was contacted. A records check showed Plank to have an active warrant. Plank was taken into custody without incident. Plank advised that her 6-year-old son and her 5-year-old daughter are in the residence.
Deputies observed a young boy open the front door and stand on the porch. Deputies further observed the inside of the house was in shambles.
Deputies contacted Child Protective Services. Deputies questioned Plank about drugs and she said that there is marijuana inside the house. A search warrant was written to allow deputies to search the residence. At about 10:30 a.m., a search warrant was executed and the following items were located in Plank’s bedroom; marijuana, numerous plastic bags containing white residue, five glass pipes with burnt residue and a plastic bag containing a brown sticky residue. Many of these items were within the children’s reach.
Child Protective Services responded and took custody of the children. Plank was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
