Yucca Valley, Ca.,- In another example of cronyism, collusion and cover-up, Chair Tim Humphreville refused to correct the minutes of the May 13, 2014, Planning Commission meeting.
The minutes are inaccurate in order to conceal the lack of professionalism by Humphreville. Hiding behind a microphone as he muffles and mumbles, there are no DVD recordings of those meetings and any audio record may be destroyed after 30 days.
There were cases when Staff massaged the minutes or toned down comments that I objected to when I was a planning commissioner. When George Huntington was the Chairman of the planning commission, several developers would speak against the minutes they felt mischaracterized what they said. Huntington would immediately order the minutes to be corrected to reflect their comment verbatim.
Never before would there be an expectation or situation for Staff to scrub the minutes to remove the facts, except in this case with Humphreville. If it is not in the minutes, I guess it never happened.
Another example of collusion, concealment and cronyism to add to the list of violation of the public trust by Humphreville, the left-over Luckino appointment to the planning commission.
Letter requesting correction of minutes:
I ask if you would kindly review the attached minutes of May 13, 2014, on stamp page (303) in reference to calling a recess.
I am requesting the minutes be corrected for accuracy and an accounting of the events leading up to, and describing an abrupt recess declared by the Planning Commission Chair during one of his outbursts.
Chair Tim Humphreville lost his temper with a citizen who politely asked to re-open Public Comments due to new information being presented by the Commission after closing the Public Comment segment. While there is no DVD of this action, there were 35 citizens in the audience that will confirm this. I am able to provided their names, if necessary. During this break, I spoke to the audience to explain that you often suggest re-opening Public Comments under similar circumstances and I asked them to contact Mayor Robert Lombardo about this outburst by his appointed planning commissioner.
Chair Humphreville acknowledged during this recess he was aware new information was presented and he knew he should have re-opened the Public Comment for that reason. He said he was inclined to do so but since it was me that asked, he chose not to because of articles written about him. I have the name of the citizen who overheard his comments to me. The bottom line is this immature Chair Humphreville punished 35 citizens seated in the audience due to his own personal shortfalls lacking anger management and personal prejudices.
All I ask is the minutes reflect the reason for the abrupt calling of this recess. Massaging the minutes to omit this action may be viewed as an attempt to whitewash the unprofessional behavior of the Chair.
My request to correct the minutes is not for a verbatim account but only seeking an accurate reflection on what took place.

PS. If you recall, there was an incident with the Town Council when I asked Mayor Dawn Rowe for an additional two minutes. I was the only one requesting to speak regarding the multimillion dollar Senior Housing project when new information was presented in a power point presentation. My request was denied and I stood at the lectern in silence for 2.5 minutes and made a comment before the buzzer. The fired ex-Town Manager, Mark Nuaimi, had completely scrubbed the minutes clean without any mention that I spoke on the issue. The Town Council minutes were corrected to reflect the accuracy of that event as per my written request prior to the Mayor.
