Do you know where is Desert Heights? Hmmm, who are the residents of Desert Heights and how can anyone contact them?

The Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council met last week to discuss whether Desert Heights should have a representative seated on the dais.  What became of their discussion was no one had any idea where is Desert Heights, population or boundaries.

Adding to the mystery was the fact only two residents showed up for the meeting and explained they have no meeting place.  Desert Heights CERT Leader and weekly contributor to the local newspaper, Mary Reeves, will bring information to the MAC for their June 9th meeting and hopefully will be joined by Chief Jim Thompson from the Twentynine Palms Fire Department to discuss the closing of the Lear Fire Station in Desert Heights.

The other resident from Desert Heights, Ed Vallerand, was concerned about fire and emergency services for his community since the closing of the Lear station.

If you live in Desert Heights and want to be represented on the SB County Council, please plan to attend the next scheduled meeting of the MAC on Monday, June 9, 2014, at 6:30 PM at the Joshua Tree Community Center located at 6171 Sunburst, Joshua Tree.

Please email or call Mary Reeves at mary.reeves35@yahoo.com or (760) 625-5335
