HESPERIA >> A crash involving a tractor trailer and another truck has strewn carrots across the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway, tying up traffic in the High Desert and Cajon Pass.

Shortly after 2 p.m., a tractor trailer struck the other truck north of Oak Hill Road, and carrots were thrown across all lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol. All northbound lanes of traffic were stopped.

A helicopter landed on the freeway to take an injured person to a hospital.

About 50 gallons of diesel fuel and oil were spilled in the center divider.

Vehicles were reportedly using the roadside to pass other vehicles and causing other crashes, the CHP web site reported.

Authorities reported the northbound side of the freeway would be closed for “an extended period of time.” Story source>link
