Ummm Chad…About those Endorsements…

Bob_StadumYucca Valley, Ca.,- It’s too bad the candidates running for office do not have an opportunity to clear any endorsements or letters to the Editor submitted by the “Bubble People of Yucca Valley.” They may be well meaning and good intentioned, however, they end up doing more harm than good.

For example, in today’s local newspaper there is someone speaking highly of Chad Maye’s character, when in fact, that person was punished by the FPPC, Fair Political Practice Commission, on two occasions for voting on issues where he had a conflict of interest.  Not to mention, he walked from the mortgage on his primary residence and left the bank holding the bag. This Hi-Desert Water District Director, while seated on the dais, had the gall to chastise a restaurant owner for not paying the taxes and allowing the bank to foreclose. Story>link

Of course, I am referring to our illustrious Hi-Desert Water Board Director, Bob Stadum, who writes “Chad Mayes has good character.”

Stadum is not the finest example of “Good Character” and relies on his good buddies at the local radio station and local newspaper to keep mum about his misdeeds. And, of course…there are those HDWD advertising dollars to consider. This little radio station broadcasted “The HDWD Conflict of Interest Charges Greatly Exaggerated” and denied any wrong doing by Stadum. Story>link

In March of 2007 and April 2007, Stadum received advice letters from the FPPC, Fair Political Practices Commission, stating he had a prohibited Conflict of Interest and may not participate in any decision to build or operate any sewer project or any regional wastewater plant.

HDWD Director Stadum was fined $3,000 in May 2010 by the FPPC, for his Conflict of Interest and referenced the March 2007 letter which he ignored only two months later by voting on a matter in May 2007. Stadum Exhibit A   Stadum Plea Agreement

Chad should be more careful about his endorsements from these “Bubble People.”
