We at Cactus Thorns offer our condolences to the Dube family and to Pat.

“Mac” Dube passed away on Tuesday.

He was a figure of prominence in 29 Palms and will be missed.

I can recall when I was a young captain out in the “boonies” of the training area of MCAGCC meeting, then to me, bird colonel “Mac” Dube.

I then got to know him again once I was a council-member.

I think it fair to say that the city will be a little less now that he is gone.

“Mac” I wish you fair winds and following seas in your new Life – I will miss you.

Mac was a major political force (all by himself) in the Bolo/Rail-Cycle MegaDump fight. He was great supporter of Kathy Davis in her quest for 1st District Supervisor (which she attained). He also weighed in on the Eagle Mountain MegaDump fight later on. He was one of the best aspects of 29 Palms for several decades. RIP Mac.
