Yucca Valley, Ca.,- Representatives from the Marine Corp and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management will host an information meeting about upcoming changes in land use in the Johnson Valley area 6-8 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Yucca Valley Community Center located at 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway, Yucca Valley.
The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms is expanding into the 188,000 acre national offroading area in Johnson Valley, taking over about 188,130 acres for training exercises. It will also get to use an additional 56,439 acres of public land for the exercises that will occur twice a year.
