Yucca Valley, Ca.,- I’m sorry to sound so cynical but, just when does a birthday party to celebrate one’s 37th turn into a campaign cash cow event for invitees to pledge $99 and upward for some ice cream, candles, cake and political stumping?

Am I the only one remembering local political candidates holding free outdoor picnics to meet and greet “Joe the Plumber” and kiss small babies for photo-ops?

After a person decides to RSVP to this birthday invite, the home address will be given out and one can the apply for a political lawn sign approval only IF you live in a high traffic location.

Let’s look at the campaign numbers as of January 1st-March 24, 2014:

Contributions for this period $26,993.

Expenditures for this period $51,505.

Total expenditures $78,761.

ENDING CASH: $78,802

Forget about gift wrapping that shirt and tie…Cash is one size that fits all…
