The April 15 e-edition of the Hi-Desert Star is a telling story about “Senior housing unit collapses on shaky storage props.” You be the judge… the entire foundation also collapsed even though alleged to be in compliance with building codes. Here is the Link to the newspaper story and accompanying photo of collapsed housing units. The structural integrity of the wooden box housing frames are in question in earth quake country. Shame on the town council.
National CORE has been swirling in controversy and alleged corruption for years. CORE has been busted for being underfunded, the Feds raided their offices, documents seized and its former CEO allegedly ran out of Washington under shady circumstances when he was assistant director of HUD. CORE’s founded member and ranking executive decision-maker, Jeff Burum, continues to be the focal point of the high-profile San Bernardino County corruption case.
All the while the town council was aware of this but went forward selecting CORE as developer, builder, manager and money makers. CORE was selected by the town council without going through a legitimate bidding process after former Town Manager Mark Nuaimi pulled CORE out of his carpet bag.
Isn’t it time for house cleaning on the town council in the 2014 elections?
