Mead Valley, CA— On Saturday, March 21, 2014, around 04:47 A.M., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Perris Station responded to 23200 block of Cajalco Rd., Mead Valley, in reference to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

As deputies arrived, they located a 58-year-old male subject inside the business suffering from stab wound to his neck. Responding deputies, and CALFIRE and American Medical Response paramedics gave medical aid and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery for his injury. He is expected to survive  After speaking with witnesses and observing surveillance video, it was determined the victim was approached by a black male adult on a bicycle. Without provocation, the subject attacked the victim and took his vehicle.

Surveillance

The subject is described as a dark skinned individual, approximately six feet tall, bald, wearing a white shirt, black pants, and white shoes.

The vehicle was discovered a short time later, abandoned, and damaged from a single-vehicle collision. An extensive search of the area for the subject was conducted and deputies were unable to locate the subject.
