29 Palms: Theater 29 Sissy Boys Shown How to Raise Money the Old Fashion Way

1_113503-619x3301One local Former Army Ranger war hero raises money for his nonprofit charitable veterans organization the old fashion way — while Theatre 29 Sissy Boys milk (verb) the male bosoms of Council Members Dan Mintz, Jay Corbin, Joel Klink and Jay Corbin). It’s easy… theater girly boy show up at the back door of city hall,  four council guys open their shirts, bare their male bosoms and the girly men voraciously suck the teat of mother’s  underside.

The raid on Taxpayers funds has got to stop because the city has depleted it funding and will be in a red sinkhole come June 2014. “Nope,” for a $400,000-500,000 dog park the city simply cannot afford.

The point of this blog is to highlight another approach. For example, the chapter of Vets Cruzin for a Cause is active in the Basin. They don’t feed from the bosoms of our councilmen. They had their grand opening of their thrift show, have have numerous fund raisers and collect food and warm clothing for the documented  1317 homeless registered veterans in the Morongo Basin. You will not see these men and women at the back door of city hall milking (verb)  from Mintz’s , Corbin’s, Klink’s and Harris hairless bare bosoms.

Vets Cruzin for a Cause have two fundraisers events in April:

poker run <<Link to press release —  Bingo Night, Joshua Tree Sportsmen Club  (live music, food, drinks, prizes), April 13, 2014

April Car Wash (1) << link to press release – Charity Car Wash For Fallen Veterans,  April 12, 2014

Event sponsored by Motorcycle Supply, Decal Dept, etc.

Ben, freedom of the press does not mean you have to be a maggot mouth.

    • Steve Spear Steve Spear says:

Agreed Larry but one still wonders why all these organizations do not go to city hall and ask for money like a very select few do.

I have been down this road before many years ago and nothing has changed.

The special interest groups get attention and money the groups that should get attention and money are ignored.

But I guess that depends on ones point of view. Perhaps a chalk fest or two, a few metal sheep or so, some signs that were not needed (monument drive) are more important than helping homeless veterans that fought a war or two for us over the last 13 years.

Again, what is important to some is not important to others. The big question is it seems clear what is important to our current council don’t you think?

  2. Hi Larry,

Your opinion is important to me.

You are referring to the words in the parody: sissy boys, Bosom, teat, girly men. Can you defend those parody words as “maggot” words?

Are those words more hurtful than this council, including Jim Harris, spending in the red, spending more than the city has coming in, having no usual annual reserves at the end of the year of 700 thousand to 1 M going back into reserve funds into the general fund, the city’s bond attorney earning a million dollars with zero to show for it, a few hundred thousand for consulting and administrate costs with no results and using $200 thousand for legal fees from the state which ought to have gone to local agencies? Can you defend preferential for a few nonprofit organizations of special friends?

I think my parody is rather mild when placed side-by-side with this council actions. Thank you for your criticism. I encourage all criticism.

  3. Larry Briggs Larry Briggs says:

I’m sure this group has a 501(c)(3) registration. All they have to do is submit a request and ask for the funds the way the other community organizations do. Ask and you shall receive………

    • Steve Spear Steve Spear says:

Maybe they have more pride in themselves than to ask for tax payers money.

      Maybe a lot of things.

How about our council reach out and do things that should be done as opposed to doing things that need not be done?

There are many 501′s in our community that do not seek tax dollars in order to do their missions. Again, only a select few have the smaller conscious and ask over and over again for tax dollars.

This is where I will need to disagree with those that were against the sign that was recently put up by the city, the tribe, and the theatre. I think it was a good investment because the sign will also advertise other city functions to the visitors of the casino.

I also have no issues with theatre 29. They are basically self sufficient and most if not all of the improvement to the building have come from CDBG funds and the theatre’s own funds.

When I was on the council I fully supported the theatre and still do.

My point is that there other organizations that are receiving tax dollars and have shown no financial gain for the city at all.

“Our council reach out and do things that should be done….” And cactus thorns determines if they have been right or wrong?

    • Larry, anyone can post stories, comments, opinions, rebuttals or parodies in CT. Council people have a voice but they choose to distance themselves from the public. California case law favors blog boards because it gives one the opportunity to rebut, explain themselves, set the record straight and, therefore, courts seem to favor community blog exchanges because they dampen libel suits.

Cactus Thorns does not “determines if our [council] have been right or wrong?” A few private citizens like myself only proffer opinions and commentary. Why all the ballyhoo over one opinion?

It seems this council is threaten by the voice of Dan, Margo, or on occasion respected resident and veteran city council member Steve Spear (who is always a gentleman)?

    • Steve Spear Steve Spear says:

Larry come on. You at times appear to be a firm believer in the concept of “my city right or wrong”.

Just as you do not agree with some of my positions I do not agree with some of the council positions and as of late I do not agree with many of them.

      Primary disagreements are:

Failure to address public safety – the Fire Department
Construction of the monument sign with the sheep
Failure to handle the Warne termination as a termination and not a retirement.
Failure to adhere to the Brown Act which caused an outside law firm to threaten them with litigation before they addressed the issue.
Sale of the Project Phoenix bonds

      Positive decisions:

No acceptance of the “bribe” for the solar field
Construction of the Theatre 29 sign
The move to build medians and curbs gutters and sidewalks

These are only a few examples.

I unlike others can not find good in all that the council does. I am just not a lock step type of guy I guess.

  5. Larry Briggs Larry Briggs says:

Steve, I agree with your right to agree or disagree with the decisions of the city council. What I don’t agree with is Ben’s filthy wordage to express his disagreement with the council.

  6. We all love ya Larry. It is what it is: satire and parody.

The parody drives home that fact that council cronies open the doors for preferential treatment for the same cronies time after time and they derailed public fire safety and real city priorities. They gave it a shot and ended-up shooting themselves in the foot while draping a hangs-man noose around the necks of the public.

Are you okay with the fiscal status of your city and its abject debt?

Or, is it like Mr. Spear suggest, my council right or wrong. I’d rather you act like a mentor to the council who has not accepted any responsibility whatsoever for their financial blunders which will impact the city for many, many years and many future council’s.

I respect your disapproval, but make no apology for those unsavory, innocuous words. The thing I do regret is that one paragraph was not rewritten into a tighter sentence.

One of the lame ducks has become so hubris, he thinks he can be reelected and knock out any contender. Remember Mayor John Cole last year? He did very poorly in the election and a new comer filled his seat. Just as I believe Mintz, or Harris will tank if they humiliate themselves and seek reelection. You cannot fool all the people all the time.

What is very transparent is neither you nor anybody else has attempted to discuss the issues. But rather pretend they do not exist: classic denial.

Recap: … girly boys, bosoms, sissy boys, mother’s underside, teat, bare bosoms hardly rises to the level of “filthy” or “maggot” words.

Your words are actually more disrespectful that mine….

  7. Hi Larry,

Demonstrating good faith, I address your welcomed criticism numerous times concerning my (unsavory but innocuous) parody.

I ask you again, “Are you okay with the fiscal status of your city and its abject debt?

Please give me the same respect and address my question. Thank you very much.

  8. Larry Briggs Larry Briggs says:

Fiscal status: As of today Yes. Abject means contemptible, despicable. Do you really mean to use that word to describe the current city debt? Unsavory. more like locker room talk. Innocuous: lacking distinction, insipid. Yes.

    • Thanks Larry for laying your cards on the table.

The word choice (abject) was not what I intended. Sorry. Kindly let me rephrase: Are you okay with the fiscal status of your city today?

Thanks in advance for responding to my polite and reasonable question.

  9. Larry Briggs Larry Briggs says:

Like I said at 12.06PM: As of today Yes.
