Stephen Howard bookingOn Saturday, March 8, 2014 deputies from the Central Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a child molestation occurring in the cities of San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Fontana. The suspect, Stephen Howard, 54,  is the pastor of the Muscoy United Methodist Church in San Bernardino.

 

On Monday, March 10, 2014 the Crimes Against Children Detail was called and they assumed the investigation. The victims are 14 and 23 years old and previously attended the Muscoy Methodist Church. The 23 year old victim’s abuse began when he was nine years old and continued into adulthood. The victims disclosed that Howard was sexually abusing them in exchange for money.

 

 

Howard was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center and is being held on $250,000.00 bail.

 

 

Howard has been the lead pastor at the Muscoy United Methodist Church since 2001. He was also the youth director at a United Methodist Church in Ontario from 1989 to 2001.

Meanwhile not to be outdone, over in Riverside County…….

per14-0313-CLayJeromeAnthonyOn March 13, 2014, Perris Police Department investigators served search warrants at 190 E. 5th Street, Perris (Compassion Church) and a residence in the 400 block of Perris Blvd., Perris.

Pastor Jerome Anthony Clay Sr. (41) was located at his residence in Perris and arrested for rape. Clay was booked into the South West Detention Center and his bail was set at $55,000.

Investigators determined the victim (an adult female) was associated with the church and known to the suspect prior to the incident.

Sheriff investigators believe there are other victims and urge them to contact law enforcement to report the crimes.
