(Speculation)-Morongo Basin, Ca.,- Third District Field Representative Donna Munoz did not renew her one year contract so she could seek other opportunities and landed the position of General Manager for Morongo Valley. Congratulations to Donna! Her vast knowledge and experience as a previous field rep and elected official will be greatly missed. Last week two persons contacted Supervisor Ramos office asking when will there be a Field Representative to replace Munoz without any response.
One person came to mind when considering the vast area that has to be covered attending meetings to represent Supervisor Ramos is someone almost doing same by covering governmental meetings for the local radio station. Reporter Mike Lipsitz reports on Hospital meetings, Morongo Valley CSD meetings, Copper Mountain College, Big Horn Desert View Water District and is the Chair of the San Bernardino Municipal Advisory Committee representing Landers community where he has lived over nine years in the Goat Mountain area. He is the President of the Morongo Basin Democratic Club, the 2014 Chair of Publicity for the Morongo Basin Historical Society, a member of InlandPride, and on the Board of Advisors for the Morongo Basin Conservation. He will be receiving training in complying with the Ralph M. Brown Act this week and possibly a course or two on Robert’s Rules of Order for parliamentary procedures.
Lipsitz is very familiar with the area but will he be able to replace Munoz’s big shoes? Will he step down from his current position as radio reporter, Big MAC Chair or other positions to avoid any Conflict of Interest?
This is purely speculation and I don’t know if Lipsitz even applied for the position (wink-wink!)…we’ll soon find out!
