Rotwnews.com-Mountain Communities – Time in the mountain communities springs forward one hour on Sunday, March 9.During Daylight Saving Time, clocks are turned forward an hour, effectively moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.
First responders point out that about two-thirds of home fire deaths result from fires in homes with inoperable or no smoke alarms present.
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME
Daylight Saving Time (DST) will be in effect in California until Sunday, November 2. DST is observed in most United States except Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii.
Several overseas territories also don’t observe DST, including Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, United States Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands.
Since 2007, DST has started on the second Sunday of March and ended on the first Sunday of November.
The “official” time to change clocks is 2 a.m., but most mountain residents set their clocks ahead one hour before they retire for the night. Story Source>LINK
