Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Edward Donald Jones, 69, a transient, Sunday (3/2) afternoon for burglary and criminal trespassing, both felonies.
Approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies were contacted about a suspicious incident by a homeowner. The homeowner said that he currently has his house listed for sale in the 2600 block of Thunderhead Drive. The homeowner further said that he was contacted today by a realtor who was about to show his house to a prospective buyer, but when they arrived they observed a male subject moving property into the house.
Deputies responded to the residence with the homeowner, a 52-year-old male victim. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a male subject at the door who identified himself as Jones. Jones advised that he recently purchased the house through another realtor and escrow had closed.
Deputies contacted Jones realtor. Jones realtor said he did not sell the residence to Jones. Jones realtor further said that Jones attempted to purchase a different property from him with fraudulent funds.
Jones was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
