San Jacinto busts 63 for driving talking on cellphone

On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 8:00 AM, the San Jacinto Police Department’s Traffic Division conducted a Cellular Phone Enforcement Operation as part of its commitment to public safety. This operation was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year. This operation targeted several locations throughout the city. The goal of the operation was to locate and address drivers who were operating their cellular phone without a hands free device and to bring public awareness to the dangers of distracted driving.

Operation Results:

  • 63 citations for operating a cell phone without a hands free device
  • 9 arrests for unlicensed drivers
  • 9 vehicles towed/impounded
