Big-Business-IdeasThis week we should find out if the City of Twentynine Palms will prevail in its lawsuit with the State of California‘s Department of Finance.

In the next couple of days we are going to have it made crystal clear after three years of bull crap, and a year of maneuvering to get this to court.  Who was right… A. Patrick Munoz or Me.

Someone is going to be right, someone is going to be wrong. Someone is going to have to admit to the world that they didn’t know what hell they were talking about.

the-tonight-show-starring-johnny-carson-carnac-the-magnificentSometime after 2:00 PM on the 23rd of January 2014, we’re going to find out if the city gets to spend its Bond money on Project Phoenix that it has been coveting, or the court will order them to follow the regulations and admonitions of the Department of Finance to Defease the Bonds as they suggest and once and for all close down the old RDA, put and end to Project Phoenix and wind down the Successor Agency. Either way it goes The next scheduled City Council Meeting is going to be one Barn Burning Son of a Bitch.

I’m either going to look like a complete horses ass or a gawd damned Prophet.

The only thing that will come of this will be a billing from Rutan and Tucker for another several hundred thousand dollars in legal fees (and hopefully for the RDA folks) a few more months of life.

All they need is to survive 'til they are able to set a proposition before the voters, promise enough "pie in the sky" and RDA will be back and they can rape the taxpayers for another 50 years.

Agreed as to the costs.... they will continue as Rutan and Tucker promise the moon and deliver nothing but nightmares.

I don't believe that a proposition would pass. The abuses are still too fresh in the voters minds. And besides this was a Democrat led initiative, lots of votes there. Since we are talking about a tax issue the hurdles might be to high for a simple majority to pass.

I'm thinking that with we can find compromise with the liberals and conservatives with this issue. Redevelopment has been a boondoggle from day one. for every good project there has been a 100 that have destroyed communities.
