The Theater 29 issue just becomes more and more interesting as the hours pass.

I was told that the City Manager and Steve Flock met with Gary Daigneault for “lunch”. Now I learned of this meeting about a day ago but did not have the chance until today to put a time line on this meeting.

I met with the City Manager Mike Tree today and bluntly asked when this “lunch” meeting happened. Mike told me about 3 weeks ago. That would place this meeting well outside the social function that happened during the weekend of 22 and 23 May 2010 that attributes Gary Daigneault to saying the Theater is moving and the city is footing the bill so to speak.

Mike Tree told me that this meeting was at the request of Gary Daigneault. Neither he nor Steve Flock asked for any meeting.

During this meeting Gary Daigneault explained to Mike Tree and Steve Flock how he envisioned moving Theater 29 to the Downtown area of the city. He explained that the city was about to embark on the expenditure of millions to revitalize the downtown area and that the addition of a new and beautiful theater would and could be the centerpiece of this revitalization.

According to Mike Tree he and Steve Flock told him that is a wonderful idea however it will take a majority of the Council to agree with Gary’s dreams and to then earmark tax dollars to effect the “New Theater”.

I am now in receipt of several emails from Gary Daigneault to the adminstrator of this site that speak in the direct opposite of what the city manager Mike Tree has told me.

I will be evaluating those emails and in doing so hope to determine who is not being factual – Gary Daigneault or Mike Tree?

Why doesn’t Gary move the Theatre 29 in his back yard.
