Takata Resigns as Banning City Manager

Andy TakataBanning, Ca.,- Andy Takata, the previous Yucca Valley Town Manager before the misstep in hiring/firing Mark Nuaimi (fired Aug. 20, 2013), has submitted his letter of resignation.

Patch.com reports: Banning City Manager Andy Takata has submitted his resignation and his last day on the job will be in February, a city spokesman announced Tuesday evening.

Here’s the full statement from Banning spokesman Bill Manis dated Jan. 14, 2014:

The Banning City Council and City Manager have been discussing the future concerning the City and have come to a mutual understanding whereby City Manager Andy Takata has submitted a resignation letter contingent upon developing a severance agreement consistent with the terms of his contract. A Council Sub-Committee will be working to finalize the severance agreement. Mr. Takata will be available to assist the City in transition activities and it is anticipated that his final day of employment will be in February.

In the interim, June Overholt, Deputy City Manager, will be acting as the City Manager.

The City Council thanks Mr. Takata for his dedicated service to the City of Banning over the last four years. Mr. Takata wishes to thank the Council, Community and especially the Staff, for their support over the last four years.  Source>LINK
