On January 10, 2014, at 8:00 AM, a deputy from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was assigned to investigate a suspicious circumstance relating to a 16-year-old female. The investigation revealed that on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 4:30 PM, the female was walking on Carmen Ave, east of Broadway, when she observed a white utility box van pull alongside her. The van was occupied by two Hispanic male adults. The occupants asked the age of the female and offered her a ride home. The female refused their offers several times. The occupants were persistent in their attempts to persuade the female to enter the van. After several failed attempts, the subjects drove away without incident. The Cabazon Investigations Unit has now assumed the investigation.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is committed to the safety of the community and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature. The investigation is ongoing and we are reaching out to the public and asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Investigator Lane at the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station at 951-922-7100 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center (1-800-950-2444), or email the Cabazon Station at Station at CabazonStation@RiversideSheriff.org
