Alleged Mailbox thief arrested in 29 Palms

Twentynine Palms – Residents have incurred a flurry of mailbox thefts this year. Enough can’ t be said about terrible predators whom perpetrate this sort of petty crime.

Sheriffs Sergeant Rick Millard reported enforcement officers made an arrest Thursday of someone stealing mail out of mail boxes.

A call was made to authorities that a vehicle was parked on the wrong side of  street in the 73100 block of Sun Valley Drive.  The occupant of the vehicle, Anthony Logan, 24, was allegedly shining a flashlight into mail boxes early in the  morning.  A vehicle check disclosed that bags containing hundreds of pieces mail in the vehicle, some of which was open and contents like gift cards taken out .

Sergeant Millard reports, “Logan was arrested for investigation of burglary and possession of stolen property. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. The unopened pieces of mail were returned to the post office for redeliver. The investigation is ongoing.”
