James Harvey was named president of the Lucerne Valley Unified School District’s governing board during the board’s regular meeting last Wednesday evening.
This is Harvey’s second year as board president. Harvey’s selection was unanimous.
He is often in a conciliatory role while attempting to unify divergent views and board member approaches.
During the school board’s annual reorganization, Dawn Turnbull was selected vice-president and Jodi Collingham was named board clerk. Longtime school board member Tom Courtney was selected representative to the California School Boards Association.
Wednesday’s meeting was held in the library of Lucerne Valley High School.
