Yucca Valley, Ca.,- It has been a little over 60 days since the unpopular Town Manager/Politician Mark Nuaimi was fired and given the boot, and the loot, from Yucca Valley. Nuaimi’s payoff of $126,666 is coming to him over the next few months as per the agreement for turning in his keys, tying up his shoelaces, zipping up his pants and going back home to Fontana. Checkmate.
The small town of Yucca Valley is still reeling from his whirlwind spending spree over the past three years and a forensic audit will be needed to find out the true damage. The online vitriol comments are no longer the usual fare as previously provided for his faithful followers who were used as Nuaimi’s personal pawns.
When Chad Mayes, past Mayor of Yucca Valley, originally signed the employment contract for Mark Nuaimi, little did he know the baggage he would be taking on for his own political career. Mayes quit his seat on the dais after being newly re-elected, to accept a high paying position as Chief of Staff for Janice Rutherford. Rutherford was a past councilwoman for the City of Fontana when Nuaimi was Mayor before being elected to Board of Supervisor. To his credit, Mayes declared a gift of Nascar raceway tickets which may explain when they had their first chance meeting? Nah! See Form 700>Leaving Office 04-05-11>R_Mayes_Chad
Another door opens…for Nuaimi?
When Nuaimi was hired by the Yucca Valley Town Council, he told them his dream job was to be the City Manager of Fontana. Recently there has been an opening listed by the city of Fontana for a Community Development Director. Okay, it’s not exactly the front door to the position of Fontana City Manager, but a back door to be on Staff and report to the Fontana Deputy City Manager? The perks are pretty inviting and the last day to apply is October 31, 2013 at 5pm! Here’s the employment link for more information>Comm%20Dev%20Dir%20-%20September%202013_201310071859147527
