FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On October 9, 2013, Lesley Copeland, Town Clerk for the Town of Yucca Valley announced that recall petitions for Mayor Pro Tem Robert Lombardo and Council Member George Huntington did not have sufficient valid signatures to qualify for a recall election.
With signature verification assistance from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voter’s Office, the petition for Lombardo was found to have 2,272 valid signatures; and the petition for Huntington was found to have 2,264 valid signatures. Each petition needed 2,461 valid signatures to qualify for a recall election.
“Because of the insufficient number of valid signatures, the current recall process of Robert Lombardo and George Huntington is considered complete”, stated Copeland.
