I 40 takes Father and Son

southwest10On 06/28/2013 at 9:26 PM, a 911 call was received reporting a single vehicle rollover in the construction zone 1/2 mile east of mile marker 85 on Interstate 40. California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded with Highway Patrol Officers arriving on scene first at 9:43 PM.

The driver Jim Joseph Siciliani, a 47 year old resident of Rancho Santa Margarita, told the Officers that he was driving eastbound on Interstate 40 when he over corrected after leaving the roadway which caused his vehicle to overturn.

Jim Siciliani and his son Nicholas, age 16 succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Another 13 year old son was flown to a Las Vegas area hospital.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
