He pulled out a knife and went to business

A 53-year-old Wildomar Man, was involved in an argument on the shoulder of Cottonwood Canyon Road with an acquaintance of his, Richard Mount age 54 of nearby unincorporated Menifee. During the argument Mount produced a knife and stabbed the victim numerous times in the chest and left arm. Mount then fled the scene. The victim was able to call 911 and report the incident. The victim was initially located by an unidentified good samaritan passerby who provided emergency first aid to the most serious wounds, until emergency personnel arrived.

lak13-0621-MountRichard-201327768The victim was transported to a local hospital where he received treatment for his wounds and is expected to survive.

The public is to consider Mount armed and dangerous. He was last seen driving a blue older model pick-up, possibly a Nissan Frontier.

On 06/22/13 at approximately 9:30 AM Richard Mount surrendered himself into the custody of the Murrieta Police Department. He was arrested for the attempted murder of a Wildomar resident and transported to the Wildomar Police Department for additional investigation. Mount will be booked into the Southwest Jail for attempted murder.
