We in 29 Palms ought think about applying for one of these shows.
The Apple Valley Airport will host members of the “International Aerobatic Club” for its annual competition beginning April 29 through May 2. The event consists of practice day on Thursday and two days of competition on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is reserved as a “rain” date.
The Aerobatic competition will be held at the Apple Valley Airport, 21600 Corwin Road, Apple Valley, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day. There is no cost to attend.
The International Aerobatic Club’s competition has been held on an annual basis at the Airport since May, 2001. Apple Valley Airport serves as an ideal location to host this type of competition due to the local climate, wind conditions, and its close proximity to a Federal Aviation Administration-approved aerobatic practice area.
“The International Aerobatic Club’s competition brings significant aviation talent to the High Desert, who are often the catalyst of performers at air shows held around the country,” said First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.
“The Apple Valley Airport is proud to be a part of the High Desert and we encourage our neighbors to attend this special event,” said Mike N. Williams, A.A.E., Director of Airports for the County of San Bernardino.

Well Dan, it takes a new hire MBA with a salary of $120,000.00 hired by the City of 29 to come up with things like this. How dare you!
The competition isn’t so bad, but listening to the aerobatic pilots day after day is tormenting us. The FAA moved the aerobatic practice area (APA)behind our house in Apple Vally with no notice. The APA was moved from north of Bell Mountain because of complaints. The APA tortures my disables wife , elderly mother in law, and community.
