A similar accident in January of 2113.

Johnson Valley, CA– On May 6, 2013 at approximately 2:30 PM, Chris Michael Celesnik, 40, of Indio, CA was driving a highly modified off-road buggy southbound across Means Dry Lake bed, approximately 10 miles north of State Route 247, at an undetermined speed.For unknown reasons, Celesnik lost control of his vehicle and it overturned.

Celesnik and his passenger, Richard Jason Vance, 37, of Yucca Valley, CA, were both restrained in the vehicle by seatbelts, and suffered minor injuries.

Celesnik was transported by helicopter to Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) for treatment and Vance was transported to DRMC by ground ambulance for treatment.

Alcohol is not a suspected factor in this collision. CHP Officer D. Baker is investigating this collision.
