Being linked to Cactus Thorns is a Two Way Street

This morning I have been on line looking at local sites and seeing if they link us. Those that do are getting a banner link on our blog roll.

I think it is not only fair but important that specifically Morongo Basin blogs and generally High Desert blogs should  link one another. I mean what is the point of blogging if no one ever reads your site?

We get about 7-10 thousand individual IP hits a day, that is a whole hell of a lot of readers for such a regionally focused site. We think that we should share our good fortune in figuring out how to get return readers with our fellow bloggers. The more we all share the more we all have a continued growth in readership. And, readers is what it is all about.

So here is the deal, if you have a blog or web site that is well maintained and in my opinion has topical civic, social or political import I am going to link you. I don’t have to like you to link you. If I miss you let me know.

I will not link sites that are stagnant or have really just bull shit content. Sorry I’m not going to link cute little animal sites, Barney the Dino sites or every eco-loon’s site that feels I’m a no good SOB for not marching with them in lock step. If you have something interesting to say or have content that has significant importance to the community I will link you. Don’t be surprised if I decide to delink you if after a reasonable period of time and I discover you failed to reciprocate and link Cactus Thorns.

Oh yeah, I get to design the banner. You want hits let me design that banner.

You know it sucks when sites are just coat tailing it on the reciprocal links.
I try to do the best I can to link back. Unfortunately google tools tells me that I have over 1,200 link to my site. I was disappointed when visiting a site you linked to. No link back, in fact you have them up twice but their not so not nice. No link back to Cactus Thorns. I won’t point out who this University Educated Journalist is but his logo has that prehistoric hieroglyphic type of design. His mug shot on his site looks like he’s into bondage, mistakes himself for a viking or something like that. Kinky fellow! No tellin who Son he’s Runnin with.
