Palm Desert: Home owner draws down on burglar

Palm Desert, CA-On Thursday, March 14, 2013 at about 10:02 p.m. deputies from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to the 40700 block of Sandpiper Court in reference to a residential burglary that just occurred.

The suspect, later identified as Francisco Granados, age 22 of Palm Desert, was attempting to smash the victim’s rear sliding glass door. Granados, while fleeing the area, ran through another victims’ residence, who lives in the 40900 block of Sandpiper Court.

Deputies conducted a door to door search and discovered Granados had smashed a rear sliding glass door to a residence in the 100 block of Courtside Dive. The armed homeowner confronted Granados and Granados fled the area. While fleeing, Granados dropped a realistic looking pellet gun, which was recovered by law enforcement.

Granados was located by deputies in a nearby parking lot and taken into custody. Granados was transported and booked into the Riverside County Jail located in the city of Indio. Granados was arrested for burglary and violation of parole.
