    Hey Dan-O

Being “on this side of the dirt pile” has the advantage of evaluating the contemplated trip. Glad I have a 4-WD vehicle ’cause there seems to be a lot of mud and grit (you can substitute feces for grit) to plow through on either side of “JT”. It seems the majority of the would-be politicians in 29 and/or YV have absolutely no clue of what they are (or are not) doing. My observations by reading CactusThorns and much of the biased “newspaper” stories can be summed up as pure self-centered, self serving jibberish at the expense of the tax payer. Hence the reason I am vigorously opposed to any notion of incorporating any community (as in city, town, village, district) on the platform of “self-governance”. That’s pure BS as the proponents are only interested in their agenda of lining their pocket books……… jeeeeeze…. let me not get started.

    aaaaarrrrrg!!

…and then disincorporating is essentially impossible. So now we have this useless layer of government with a City Hall full of underworked and overpaid employees who we will support for the rest of their lives. Along with a Council whose only job is to fill the pockets of their cronies. We really got sold a bucket of that feces with the incorporation/self-governance line of BS. ggrrr is right…

        Hi Lindag…..
A few decades ago (oy… yes, I am that old) I reported:

I am already controlled and regulated by the federal government.
I am already controlled and regulated, additionally, by the state government.
I am already controlled and regulated, additionally, by the county government.
I am already controlled and regulated, additionally, by the city government.
I am already controlled and regulated, additionally, by the homeowner’s association.

It takes an accomplished lawyer (or would-be lawyer) just to make it from one day to the next. So, I eventually moved out of 56 years of existing in the “city”. Here in JT, I am still controlled and regulated by federal, state and county governments. Now, why in hell would I espouse or support forming yet another government (i.e. a city) to additionally control and regulate the remainder of my life?

As you point out Lindag, its near impossible to “undo” a municipal corporation. That is 100% due to the actions of the control freaks who call themselves “politicians” and some even have the audacity to refer to themselves as “public servants”.

As an aside Lindag, in the current national news is the report of an elderly black woman singing while on a municipal bus. She was forcibly removed from the bus and charge with “singing on the bus without a permit.” Now, that’s “control” by the establishment. Next thing the controllers will invoke is a government issued fee based permit to enter a coin operated public toilet.

        Have a good weekend
