Ridgecrest, Ca.,- A small rural community north of Yucca Valley with similar demographics has announced they are seeking a new City Manager. The last city manager, Kurt Wilson, left the position after two years on the job for a deputy city manager position in Stockton in August 2012.
After several attempts in the past 5 years, Ridgecrest voters recently approved a sales tax increase last June which is bringing in $1.3 million dollars. Fortunately for this city, they have their sewer system in place and their own police department. Verizon recently flicked the switch for the entire city to 4G.
There have been several stories posted on Cactus Thorns regarding Ridgecrest and their Measure L General Fund Tax.
